In today's world of digital photography,
just about anyone can purchase a camera
and take "high-resolution" photographs,
but the ability to properly light an injury or
other subject matter, and to accurately
reproduce quality images - requires
special training, knowledge and equipment.

                                                            Most importantly, is the ability today of
                                                             anyone with the appropriate software to
                                                             manipulate and alter images. Different
                                                             from film, the majority of cameras on the
                                                             market today capture images in formats
                                                             that can be easily altered without
                                                            detection, and without film negatives, the
                                                            evidence that an image is "true and
                                                            accurate" becomes problematic.

At Law Media, we utilize special equipment that provides digital negatives,
known as RAW images. Like film, the final images are copied from these
"digital negatives" with adjustments only to color balance, density and
contrast. This way, a photographer is able to testify that the images are an
accurate representation, and can also prove the accuracy by producing the
original RAW images for examination.
